Thank You Dolores!

by Lynn Sterner
(Los Osos CA)

Thanks to the 1 1/2 inches of rain and warm, humid days provided by tropical storm Dolores, my garden has grown by leaps and bounds. The rain barrels are full and there is an average of about 400 gallons in each rain tank. The herbs, especially the chives, are blooming and the squash is finally growing. My heirloom melon died after producing one melon, but a beautiful tomato plant popped up in its place. It has grown to about two feet in two weeks. I just finished eating my son's delicious green curry made with fresh kefir lime leaves from the tree in the front yard.
