Edible flowers beautify the vase or your palate

by Carol

Bee Balm (Monarda)

On breaks from working in the garden, I'll often pick a few edible flowers and head inside to brew up a cup of tea, or make a salad for a quick lunch. Edible flowers can be tasty in your salad, and they make it look so pretty.

A few of the flowers I use are Monarda (Bee balm) with their strong spicy taste, and depending on the season, Lilac from the large bush planted in the garden.

Before picking any flowers, be sure you can identify them correctly, and know what you are eating!
