by Kim Van Niekerk
(Bedford Eastern Cape)

Kim's Green Gardens is located on a working farm in South Africa. The business has been in the Eastern Cape for over 30 years. Kim, the owner is also a cook, an edible plant grower, a recipe developer and does cooking workshops on site. The entire operation is done on an eco friendly basis. Many plants are grown and propagated on site on the farm. Visitors are always welcome. We also run food garden workshops for all communities to encourage food growing and family health. Kim has worked in many landscaping areas including large parks, public spaces, useful parks, overseas events and gardens and her own garden Albertvale ( see ) She now concentrates mainly on edibles for the kitchen and the Cooks Garden concept. Kim and friend Cathy occasionally produce useful gardening information leaflets, charts, bookmarks etc featuring companion ideas, herbal teas, herbs and uses etc.

The business is rooted in the earth and the people are genuine and real, understanding the practical nature of edible garden landscaping within the boundaries of what the client needs and has use for. All information on the courses is original and written and produced by ourselves.
