About This Site And How It Came To Be

Why this site

This website is here:

  • To bring together home edible landscape artists, provide a place to share your work, and showcase the truly excellent
  • To inspire you to start growing your own beautiful, tasteful yard
  • To provide information about the thousands of gorgeous edible plants out there: how to grow them, how to eat them, and how to incorporate them into your edible landscape design
  • To promote companies that want to help you with your edible landscapes. They have taken a risk to specialize in this way in an uncertain economy, and I want to help them.
  • Most of all, I want to change the way growing food is viewed. A home edible landscape can be clean, healthy, and beautifully presented, and that's what this is all about.

We can change the world, one yard at a time.

While all others are welcome, this site is intended for the homeowner with at least a basic knowledge of gardening who wants to incorporate edible landscaping into their own property.

Although I have been organic gardening for over 20 years, I'm not an expert by any means. Since first reading about edible landscaping in 2009, I have learned what I know about edible landscaping on my own.

I want to share what I have learned with you so that you can start right away!

By the way: There's no "CEO" or "advertising department" or anything like that. I don't have a film crew or assistants or a horde of people doing my yard for me.  It's just me!

Geeky stats about this site (for fellow geeky stat-lovers)

(Out of the billions of websites on the Internet, this is mine.
If it says "no data", ignore it -- click the link and see for yourself.)

I hope everything in this site works for you. I see this site fine in Internet Explorer, Firefox and Google Chrome, but all browsers don't work the same.

If there's something that doesn't look right about this site ... a link that's broken, photos missing, or something else site-related that you think I should know about, please contact me: I would appreciate it so much.

How did you make this site?

  1. In October 2010, I took the Solo Build It! online course, which offers the information on how to create a successful online business and the tools to do so.
  2. I used the online course, the tools, and the personal support and networking opportunities from the Solo Build It! forums (which are worth the price in itself) to create this site.
  3. I've been working on it just about every day ever since! It's a labor of love -- and I'm having a lot of fun doing it. :)

Find out more about Solo Build It!, why I chose it, and why I recommend it to anyone who will listen :)
